Consultants’ job is never to give client a solution. Consultants’ job is to help client focus on the most important things, work with them to come up with a set of options and talk them through implications of pursuing each option and the exact detailed market share, governance structures, organizational design, etc. to implement an option, and what would be the returns for those options.
It is crucial to provide boundaries when discussing sector wide issues or the executives may get lost in the detail and miss the key levers. This is what we learn to do in this episode of the Strategy Skills podcast.
