There is a lot to be said for clarity. And there is something about FIRMSconsulting.com and StrategyTraining.com that is not clear, and I would like to take every opportunity to rectify this.
Guess what is the number one reason why FC community members, for a long time, don’t take advantage of training that gives them an extremely powerful competitive advantage? They could have been much further ahead by now if this was clear, but it is not.
They think that Insider and Legacy membership programs are just for consultants. It is not. Most of our clients are in corporate roles.
It takes them time to figure out that most of our clients and members are actually not even in consulting. And, in fact, using the skills we teach outside of consulting is even more powerful because those skills are so rare outside of consulting.
It is even rare in consulting.
Want to test this?
Just hire an ex-consultant from a major firm and see for yourself. Most people leave consulting (or were asked to leave a firm they worked for) way before they have an opportunity to develop a strong enough skill set. Most people never get to have a great mentor while in consulting who would teach them the essential skills. That’s why any long-term Insider or Legacy member who diligently works through our training, when up against a principal or senior partner at a major consulting firm, can generally hold their own or power over with their skillset.
I recently recorded an interview with one of our incredible long-term Insiders and clients, Neha Singh. You will be seeing that interview coming out soon. Neha is an exceptional professional. She is a client we at FC love and adore. I asked Neha about her journey of finding FIRMSconsulting, and then becoming an Insider. She mentioned that it took some time to become an Insider because, for a while, she thought that our training was only for consultants. And I know there are many people out there, in our community, who think the same way.
Here is another example. I spot-check emails received by our team to ensure we take great care of our clients and members. I even sometimes reply to emails myself. Recently, I received an email from one of Insiders mentioning that he was only using The Bill Matassoni Show because he is not in consulting.
Imagine how much he was missing out on. Thank goodness he wrote to us. Any Insider or Legacy member familiar with the power of specific programs on StrategyTraining.com will know why I feel so bad for all members who are missing out on particular programs because they think those are not applicable to them. All our programs hold tremendous power. And all our programs are designed in a way that skills are transferrable regardless of your line of work.
So, I would like to start taking action to change this incorrect perception within our community that Insider and Legacy are only for consultants. I hate to see so many Insiders and Legacy members miss out on powerful programs because they don’t realize that when we design our programs, we design them for both consultants and even more so for non-consultants, given that most of our clients and members are not in consulting. Even most of our senior clients are not in consulting.
Insider and Legacy memberships are designed to teach powerful problem-solving, business strategy, operations, implementation, leadership, and executive presence skills. Those skills are applicable outside of consulting just as much as within consulting. In fact, as I mentioned, given that most people outside of consulting don’t have strong consulting skills (even most consultants don’t), arming yourself with those skills gives you a significant competitive edge.
I also want to welcome you to write to our team ([email protected]) once you enroll if you need help with figuring out which programs will be most appropriate for you right now. We have an incredible team and we are here to support you. Every Insider or Legacy member who is reaching out to us for help on which programs to focus on will receive our affection, support, and guidance.
So let me again very clearly state our objective. Our objective is to empower driven and well-meaning business professionals (although we also have senior people in government and nonprofits using our services and products) to gain a competitive edge by developing solid problem-solving, business strategy, operations, implementation, leadership, and executive presence skills. Yes, some of our members are management consultants, including partners from major firms (which tells you a lot about the caliber of our training). However, most Insiders, Legacy members, and coaching clients are not in consulting and are not planning to go into consulting.
StrategyTraining.com programs are also about discernment. Most people lack the ability to discern which skills are really important and which are not. In fact, many people go through their careers grabbing shiny objects and developing skills at random. This is similar to investing by randomly pointing to companies highlighted in a newspaper, and if it turns out to be a public company, spending $1,000 to get shares of each company you pointed to.
Insider and Legacy membership provides clarity on where to invest your limited time and effort, which skills very senior people within consulting and outside of consulting find instrumental to their success.
We focus on the essentials that you need to master.
One key element of productivity is knowing what not to do.
What skills are you investing your time and effort in mastering?
Are those essential skills, the new fad, or random skills?
Do you have clarity or fog when it comes to understanding the skill set you require and how to acquire it to rise to and excel at an executive position or equivalent?
Are you focusing on the essence or wasting time on the fringes?
This is the difference between playing to win and playing to survive.
